My First Giveaway- My Love of the $1.00 Section at Target ($20 GC)
As a SAHM, I am always on the look out for a good bargain. I have been able to find so many great items in the "See Spot Save" section. If you have not seen it, you must not be a Target shopper! It is stocked with all sorts of things, from books, socks, stationary, toys, bags, snacks, stickers, batteries, I am sure I could go on, but I would probably bore the heck out of you! The selection varies, especially seasonally (you can find great seasonal gifts and knick knacks without breaking the bank).
A couple of MJ's favorite books from Target's "See Spot Save" section:

Here are some great things I came across on my most recent visit:
- Smiley Face Stickers: My son is currently potty training, so we use them on his potty chart. The pack came with 12 sheets of stickers, 20 on each sheet! ($1)
- Sesame Street Toddler Books: These are probably my favorite of all. They had 4 different learning books featuring Sesame Street characters. We chose the Colors book with Elmo and Counting with Cookie. ($1 each)
- Ribbon: There are tons of mix and match spools of ribbon that they always have. Most of them come in packs of 6. I recently got the "It's a Girl" set of 6 for a friends upcoming babyshower. ($1)
I feel like a kid in a candy store when I set foot in the store. So the next time you are in Target and you see the $1 section, think of me!

*Ahem* I am also an avid fan of the $1 bin.. I was able to create my own kid birthday bucket from this section. I had 2 relatives who were having a joint birthday party and I was perplexed as to what I was going to get them. I ventured into the $1 section and saw beach buckets and got an idea. I used the beach buckets that were there and found all sorts of toys, books, stickers and many assortments that I was able to throw in the buckets all for under $10.
August 17, 2009 12:19 PM
I always have to stop at this part of the store. Even if I was just there the week before. The best thing I've found there was some blank note cards that were fairly plain but I jazzed them up with a little paper and ribbon and sent them as Christmas cards. And I didn't spend more than $2 for 8 cards! Thanks for the lovely giveaway.
August 17, 2009 12:46 PM

I absolutely love the $1 bins at target. My greatest find was all of my daughter's Christmas presents. She is only 1 years old right now and last Christmas money was really tight. We got her some light up toys, socks, hair bands, sunglasses, sidewalk chalk, and just a bunch of goodies. The giftcard would be a blessing if chosen as her Christmas this year will also come from the dollar bin at target.
August 18, 2009 7:02 AM
Hair bows for my daughter was the best find at Target's dollar section. Got some really pretty ones in fact better that was sold at the dollar store next door to my Target. I love Target! Also the end of aisle clearance is awesome.

I am a $1 girl. I love cheap stuff. The last thing I bought was popcorn cups in the target dollar aisle. But the best deal was after school clearance a few years ago when I lucked up on .15 and .25 cents for everything for the next school year like pencils, notebooks, and book covers. I love target's clearance!

Last month during the 50% off sale I found dishes, cups, a cool lunch bag for my dh. I also got my son Coke and Sprite pencils for school.

Thank you for the giveaway!
August 18, 2009 5:07 PM
I love the $1 spot so much. I had looked everywhere for my son a set of numbers and ABC's - the magnet ones to be placed on the refrig.. and there they were in the $1 section. To be honest, I would probably buy items for my kids with the card.

One of the best deals I have gotten from the $1 spot was a bunch of lotions and body creams for $1 each, they were not just the tiny bottles either, they were great sizes! I gave them away in a secret santa game!
Thanks for the giveaway!

I would like the buy the Hello Kitty Pens from the $1 bins. They don't have them all the time. The pens are out a few times a year and they are out now.

The best deal I ever found from the $1 section were socks! I am a sock geek, I love them. Whenever I go there, I always look for new socks. And, you can bet your bottom dollar, if I won this gift card, I'd be heading straight for the $1 section in the hope that there will be socks... Or at least some really great school supplies!

The dollar section must be new since the last time I was at Target, but I would hope there's some cute stationary or notebooks there!

I don't shop the $1 section so often, it's the Clearance toddler clothes I'm always after. But Recently I got Avery some Winter Socks (2 pk) for $1!! Not a bad deal if you ask me. $.50 for a pair of BRAND NEW SOCKS. It's garage sale prices there!!
I also bought our cups there 2 years ago. Plastic cups, but 4 packs were $1!!! I bought 12 cups!

OMG, i can't even tell you how many great deals we've found in that section!!! I would say the best though would be the wooden trains I got about a year ago. The kids still play with them constantly :-)
If I won, I would pick up more toys for the kids to stash in my purse for emergencies!
Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!!!
