Face it, our kids are growing out of their clothing so fast it’s insane! My wallet can’t keep up, so I am extremely thankful for this new site, ThreadUP. ThreadUP is a site designed for parents to swap gentle used, second hand children’s clothing online. It’s absolutely free and in my opinion, genius!

Here’s How It Works:

- Find a box of clothing on ThreadUP’s site that your child will fit, wear and love. Search by sorting by gender, size, brand, season and type of item
- Prepare a box of gentle used clothing that your child has outgrown that another parent can use, you do not have to swap with the same person.
- You will pay shipping and handling for the box you choose, but send your box of clothing for free. A convenient label is available for you to print to send your box for free. Remember, all you ever pay is shipping for the box you choose.

Imagine getting your child a virtually new wardrobe for the season for only the price of shipping and handling, great deal! If you are not against second hand clothing, sign up HERE for the 100% free service and check out what ThredUP has to offer, you might just find something you want! You can click the banner above to get started with 2 months of Pro Membership. With Pro, you get access to a few more features, but can easily downgrade to Basic membership at anytime.

  1. I read you can send your cloth and they will buy it well if its in good condition based on their criteria.
Has anyone tried it? I want to give it a shot but I’m unsure!

  2. I just heard on ABC World News that this website bought used children’s clothing. Is this true? Or is it only a “swap” situation?
