Laundry. It's inevitable. And unfortunately, so are the stains that come with it. Thank goodness for Shout, a product that has made my laundering life a little easier for years!
Luckily, I was chosen to review a few Shout products that are currently on the market, two of which I have never tried. I have used the Shout Laundry Stain Remover Spray, but the Shout Color Catcher In-Wash Sheets and the Shout Advanced Ultra Concentrated Gel I received have never been tried or tested by the stain masters themselves, MJ and the Hubby!
Shout Laundry Stain Remover Spray: This has been a good ol' faithful in my household for years. Even before we had children, we had a bottle of Shout on deck. It is know as the #1 Stain Remover based upon AC Nielsen data and for good reason, it has really proven to be effective time and time again at removing tough stains!
Tip: Pre-Spray your stain as soon as you can, then give it another spray just before putting it into the wash. Works for me! I also use this spray in my carpet and upholstry cleaner, it really takes the stains out of out beige colored couch and chair cushions.
Shout Color Catcher In-Wash Sheets: These were completely new to me, so I was excited to try them out. You add a sheet to your regular wash load and let it work! The dyes, stains and dirt that come off in the water get trapped onto the color catcher sheet instead of on your clothes. I was actually surprised at the amount it absorbed, the once white color catcher sheet was filthy. It came out looking like a weird brownish color, no thanks! I tried these on a couple of colored loads so I can't wait to see how well this works with my darks. The proof is in the sheets!
Shout Advanced Ultra Concentrated Gel: This thick gel formula came in a 8.7 oz. bottle and is formulated for your heaviest stains. I had never used this specific Shout product either, so I was anxious to see how it worked. Squeeze a little out of the top, which is an orange fabric-safe scrubber brush, and rub it gently into the fabric where the stain is. I let it sit for a few minutes before starting the wash. The stain in question was a juice spot on one of MJ's shirts from a week or so ago, so it needed to sit for a little bit. When I removed the load from the washer, the stain was long gone! I meant to take before and after pictures, but I suck. I really like the penetrating brush, it helps to loosen up the stain ahead of time with a good scrub. TRY THIS STUFF.
Shout has a new sweepstakes they are running called the Shout Go Play Initiative. Go Play is all about encouraging kids and parents to get outside and play, no matter how dirty they may get! Play is fundamental to positive cognitive development; it’s how kids solve problems; how they develop coping skills and master the art of conflict resolution. It’s how they become happy, healthy adults. Shout is partnering up with Growing Tree Toys to offer a weekly $200 gift certificate for four weeks and a Grand Prize of a brand new play set from Rainbow Play Systems Inc. And of course, when it's time to clean up after playing rough outside, Shout products are there to remove stains and save the day! To enter the sweepstakes, visit their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/shoutlaundry. No purchase is necessary.
Thanks to Shout and Growing Tree Toys for providing the products for review and for sponsoring a great contest. I am definitely heading over to enter, are you?
