Chicken nuggets. My kids love them. I personally love them. I try not to make it a habit of feeding my children fast food, but when I do, I look for the healthiest items on the menu.

Well there’s a new nugget in town, courtesy of Chick-fil-A! Their all new Grilled Chicken Nuggets are now being offered as a kids meal entree, and can be paired along with Buddy Fruits Applesauce and low fat milk. Now when I find myself pressed for time, I don’t feel guilty feeding my children unhealthy fast foods, Chick-fil-A’s grilled nuggets are a great alternative! In comparison to other fast food kids meals, this has been recognized as one of the healthiest in America.

Face the facts on Chick-fil-A’s Grilled Nuggets:

  • They are made of 100% chicken breast meat and are gluten free, no pre-formed meats used here! The 4-count grilled nuggets are 80 calories, 1g fat; 6-count nuggets are 110 calories, 1.5g fat.
  • There are now better side item and drink choices. No need for fries. Buddy Fruits Applesauce, fruit cup, low fat milk, 100% apple juice, and water are among the offerings.
  • When you get the Nutritious Kid’s Meal Combo, The Grilled Nuggets (4-count), Fruit Cup and one-percent milk option contains only 210 calories and 3 grams of fat – reflecting an 86 percent cut in fat grams and a 56 percent calorie reduction compared to its previous offerings.

Childhood nutrition is extremely important, and I am glad to see that Chick-fil-A, a quite popular fast food chain, is taking notice and making a change. Obesity in our kids is at an all time high, I love the fact that they are doing their part to help in the fight against it.

I tried out Chick-fil-A’s Grilled Nuggets and they were pretty good. There is a salt and pepper flavor and they were nice and juicy inside, just the way I like my grilled chicken! They are a bit small, but I imagine that is what you get after removing all of the breading and fillers from regular chicken nuggets. My kids ate their meals without issue, but if you have hungry kiddos, go for the 6 piece!
