Thank you to
Now that the kids are officially out of school, LeapFrog’s summer camp is officially underway! I shared the LeapFrog online summer camp program details a few weeks back, but if you missed it:
LeapFrog Summer Camp is a free, awesome, 8-week online program designed to keep learning FUN all summer long! This “Camp” offers engaging weekly themes and exciting learning activities that explore geography, writing, science, art, and all kinds of extra cool stuff. LeapFrog Summer Camp is ideal for kids ages 4-7.
We have been getting the weekly emails with instructions for such fun activities! Last weeks theme was ‘Caring for Animals’. There was a printable sheet that shows what is needed to take care of a pet, inspiring kids to learn responsibility and even collect a few items to donate to a local pet shelter. They had an animal baby names puzzle and encouraged parents to take the kids on a trip to the zoo, farm, or petting corral. One of our favorites was the idea to make a bird house and bird feeder. We made a homemade bird feeder, MJ had a great time and he loves looking outside to see how many birds come by to eat!
This weeks summer camp theme is ‘Puzzle Time‘, featuring matching, pattern recognition and number puzzles. Each activity helps to improve logic, reasoning and math skills in a fun way. So far, we have decoded a secret message using pictures and identifying the letters they start with. MJ is getting ready for kindergarten this year, so these exercises are important to help prepare him. Later in the week, there is a Leapfrog maze that is guided by numbers and requires you to navigate through without making a wrong turn, looks like a challenge!
If you have not yet signed up for the Leapfrog Summer Camp online, what are you waiting for? It’s fun, free, and will keep your kids sharp over the summer months. Let’s make sure that no learning time is lost!
