As much as I can’t wait to don my fall boots and scarves, I really don’t want the summer weather and fun to end! We have been able to do so much this year, isn’t there time for one last hoorah? I think so!
If you and your family want to make the most of the end of the summer, try a weekend staycation! It’s affordable, no flights or lengthy road trip required! My family was able to stay at the Embassy Suites here in sunny San Diego and take advantage of some of the fun things to do at the hotel and around the city that we normally don’t get around to.
I love that there is still time left to plan a short getaway. If you are looking for an eventful weekend, try out one of the Embassy Suites in your area, or even afar! Here are a couple of my favorites across the United States:

Embassy Suites, Raleigh, NC {Photo credit: A Helicopter Mom}
East Coast: Embassy Suites Brier Creek, Raleigh, NC
If you are anywhere near the Carolinas (or plan to be), you can check out the Raleigh, North Carolina Embassy Suites location. The lobby, rooms, swimming pool and other common areas are stunning to say the least, just ask Mickey the Helicopter Mom! She took her family for a staycation and says that this is by far one of my favorite hotel stays ever. Read Mickey’s review.
North: Embassy Suites, Lynwood, WA
Connie of Misc Finds 4 U and her husband took to Lynwood, WA to visit the Embassy Suites Hotel. It is close to a local casino and has an awesome skywalk that extends over the lush atrium. They enjoyed the complimentary managers reception and were able to visit Boeing Field nearby. Read Connie’s review, they took advantage of free or inexpensive entertainment and food to stretch our vacation dollar! Vacationing on a budget!
Embassy Suites, Chicago, IL Lakefront View! {Photo credit: 4tunate}
Midwest: Embassy Suites Lakefront, Chicago, IL
Chicago looks gorgeous in the summer time, so a stay at the Embassy Suites Lakefront Hotel would be simply amazing! Jen was very “4tunate” to be able to take her family of quadruplet boys to spend some time together. I am sure you can imagine that this family needs as much space as they can get, so a suite is in order! Their awesome view of the lake, visit to the Navy Pier and water taxi ride made for even more fun on their vacation! Read Jen’s review.
South: Embassy Suites, Atlanta, GA
Angela from About A Mom took her family to this Embassy Suites Hotel in Downtown Atlanta and according to her review, it is the perfect weekend getaway location! It is near the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, and has a Ruth’s Chris Steak House right in the hotel. Looks like they enjoyed the downtown scenery, read Angela’s review.
Our last summer hoorah will be just a couple of weeks before MJ starts kindergarten *tear*. We’re going camping in the Heritage Valley Mountains in Ventura, CA. It is cutting it a little close to the start of school, but we want to make the most of our summer fun so we’re doing it anyway! Visit this post to see some tips from Dr. Susan Biali on how you can get more out of your vacation. Be sure to take some family time during the last moments of the summer and cherish it, before the hustle of the school year gets REAL.
Are you looking for a summer encore? What are you planning to do with your family?
