Sweet Slumber for Your Little One from Mommy’s Bliss {Giveaway}

Mommy’s Bliss is a trusted brand for helping soothe little tummies. We’ve been using Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water for Avery, who is now 6 months old, since he was born back in July to help with gas and fussiness. He’ll usually go from screaming and upset to calm and quiet within a few minutes of giving him the Gripe Water. When I heard that Mommy’s Bliss released a new line of products called Sweet Slumber designed to soothe your baby to sleep and help him sleep longer, I definitely wanted to try them!

We’ve been having sleep troubles with Avery for a few months now. At 2 months old, he started sleeping through the night. But, then at 4 months old he abruptly stopped sleeping well and has been both tough to get to sleep and tough to keep asleep. We’ve tried cereal and various other methods, and it just wasn’t working. But, I think we’ve found something to help.

The Mommy’s Bliss Sweet Slumber line includes three products: a bath soap, a massage cream, and a mist. All three products contain lavender, chamomile, and ylang ylang for a soothing scent designed to help relax your baby. All the products are paraben, phthalate, and sulfate free, hypoallergenic, tear free, and gentle enough for every day use. I found the scent to be strong enough to be effective but not overpowering.

The night time soothing routine starts with the Baby Wash. It’s a bubble bath, shampoo, and body wash all in one. We’ve used it for the past week with both Avery and our two year old, Donovan. The wash produces nice, thick bubbles that Donovan loved to play with. And Avery liked splashing around and trying to grab the bubbles. While both boys have very sensitive skin, the Baby Wash didn’t dry out the skin and it washed their hair well.

After bath time, we applied the massage cream to both boys. The cream is nice and silky, but it absorbs completely, leaving no greasy feeling behind. And the scent remains apparent for a little while after you’ve finished applying it for a continued soothing sensation.

Finally, we used the Sweet Slumber Mist to give a mild scent to their pajamas and sheets. The mist creates a soothing atmosphere and helps the calming scents of lavender and chamomile linger as the boys drift off to sleep.

I was really surprised at how well the products seemed to work. Donovan has always been a good sleeper, but he’s usually a bit rambunctious at bed time. When we used Sweet Slumber, he calmed down after bath time more quickly and fell asleep faster than usual.

As for Baby Avery, it can often take up to an hour to get him to sleep, but each night we have used Sweet Slumber, he’s been asleep within 30 minutes, and that is despite the fact that the poor little guy has an ear infection. I won’t pretend that he didn’t still wake up at night—he did. But, just being able to get him to sleep faster was a blessing. When he was having trouble napping this afternoon due to a stuffy nose, I sprayed some of the Sweet Slumber Mist and it helped him relax. As you can see, once I propped him up so he could breathe better, he conked out!
