There’s something about adding color to an outfit that just makes it stand out. POP. A nice bright necklace and set of bangles, or even a cute colored top can set off the look. The latest style I love is wearing colored denim.
“But moms don’t wear the latest styles and trends.”
Stop it. I’m a mom. I’ve got a pairs of blue, sea green, red, and mustard yellow. So many women think that wearing clothing trends is something that’s beyond their time. In reality, you do not have to be 20 years old to wear the latest in colored denim and look great in it! It can be worn so many ways, show off your casual style with a pair of colored jeans, a tee and some flats, or jazz up the look for a date with a pair of colored jeans, a blazer and pumps.
Sunday Funday: Here, I donned a pair of cobalt blue skinny denim pants and a sweater. The addition of the matching black boots and scarf give the look of winter. Because yes, it was cold in San Diego. My college bestie Eboni, who writes at The Fashionista Next Door, took these photos for me and suggested I do a piece on it. My inspiration! The outfit was very comfy, casual and colorful!
Putting your outfit together: Start with the colored pants. Then add a neutral or other colored top that compliments the color of the pants. Next, choose your shoes and accessories, and be sure that they match the style of the top. You can do this!
