Homemade Valentines for Kids, Cupid's Heart Glow Stick Card

If you are looking for a fun, affordable DIY Valentine ideas, you’re in luck! My son and I made these Cupid’s Heart Glow Stick Valentines for him to pass out to his class next month. These homemade Valentine’s have NO CANDY, don’t you think they’ll be getting enough from the rest of the kids?

Learn how to make these Valentines cards for kids, you only need a few materials to knock these babies out!

Materials:

  • white card stock
  • color printer
  • glow stick bracelets
  • scissors
  • glue
  • free printables (REDBLUEPURPLEGREEN)

To get started, print out the following PDF sheets on thick card stock paper. There are 4 heart sets per page, choose from 4 different colors: RED, BLUE, PURPLE, GREEN.

How to make Cupid's glow stick Valentine hearts

Cut out each heart and the black bow and arrow pieces at the bottom of each page.

Cut slits into Paper Valentine's Day Heart Craft

This part is for adults: cut a slit on each side of the heart in a slanted, off center fashion with open scissors. Gently press the blade of the scissors through each slit to make an opening for the glow stick. Make sure the hole is small enough to hold the glow stick in securely.

To put in the glow stick, slowly insert it into one of the holes from the front of the Valentine. Push the stick through the back and out of the hole on the other side. Be careful not to crack the sticks during this process, I accidentally set off a few of the glow sticks!

Gluing on the arrow to Cupid's Heart Glow Stick Valentines

Each glow stick bracelet comes with a connector, so place it on the back end of the glow stick. To make Cupid’s bow, put a dot of glue on each end of the glow stick and carefully place the black arrow cut outs. Allow the glue to dry.
